The Melsoft Sellerthon · 2026

We're hiring salespeople.
No experience needed.
You just have to win.

Melsoft is hiring 10 to 12 salespeople. We're not asking for a sales background, and we're not asking for a degree. We put you through one day of real challenges — the Sellerthon — and hire the people who win it. Then we train you properly, for four weeks, on the job.

Apply now — it takes 15 minutes No cover letter. No essay.

What this actually is

Most companies hire by reading CVs and hoping. We think that's a terrible way to find out if someone can sell.

So we're doing it differently. Apply, and if you make the top 50, we'll invite you to the first-ever Sellerthon in South Africa — a one-day event where you'll be given three challenges, with everyone in the same room. The people who perform get the job. Simple as that.

Once you're hired, you go straight into our four-week Sales Academy at Melsoft. You'll be taught by our founder. You'll read four books. You'll be tested. And you'll be on the phone with real corporate buyers, booking real meetings, from week two.

You'll be selling accredited training programmes and software development services into some of the biggest companies in South Africa — banks, insurers, JSE-listed corporates.

This isn't a course you pay for. It's a job you compete for.
Who we're looking for

Honestly? We're looking for a specific type of person. Not a specific CV.

You'll probably do well here if…
You're competitive — always have been. Sport, school, side hustle, gaming — you just hate losing.
You can talk to anyone. You're the one who organises the group, talks your way in, gets people to say yes.
Rejection annoys you more than it wounds you. It makes you want to go again.
You're comfortable being uncomfortable. You'd rather try and get it wrong than wait until you feel ready.
You want to earn properly, and you're willing to work like it.
You'll probably hate it here if…
You want to know exactly what every day will look like before you commit.
You take "no" personally.
You're looking for something comfortable.

We're not being dramatic to sound tough. Sales is a hard job. We'd rather you know that now than find out in week two.

How the application works

It's short. It should take you fifteen minutes.

01
Your details

Name, email, phone, and where you're based. That's the easy part.

02
Your CV

Upload it. We'll look at it — but it's not what decides this.

This matters
03
A one-minute video

Phone camera is completely fine. Tell us why we should hire you. We're not judging your lighting — we're judging whether you can hold attention and make someone believe you.

No cover letter. No essay. If you make the top 50, we'll invite you to the Sellerthon.

What happens after you're hired

You start on 3 August, straight into the Melsoft Sales Academy.

Four weeks of full-time training, on payroll, at Melsoft Studios. By the end of it you'll be doing the job properly — and you'll know exactly how good you are, because the number is on the board.

One last thing

If you read this far and something in your chest went "I could do that" — apply. Don't overthink it.

The people who win this are almost never the ones with the perfect CV. They're the ones who wanted it badly enough to show up and fight for it.
